I had the absolute pleasure of capturing a lifestyle newborn in-home session that was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I stepped into their home in Marin County, the warmth and love within the family were palpable. The arrival of a new baby is always a special occasion, and being able to document these early moments is something I absolutely love! One of the most beautiful aspects of these sessions is the inclusion of older siblings. It’s beautiful to see how they interact with the new baby, filled with curiosity. During this session, the older brother was just a bundle of energy and excitement!

Including older siblings in the session is something I always like to do. It’s not just about capturing the newborn, but it’s about the entire family coming together and celebrating this beautiful new addition. The older siblings play such an important role in these moments. They bring a dynamic element to the photos that is both heartwarming and genuine. I love to capture candid’s that tell the story of the beautiful families growing! We all had so much fun during the session! There were giggles, playful moments, and a lot of love. I made sure to capture the baby’s serene expressions, those tiny fingers and toes, and the way the baby snuggled comfortably in their parents’ arms. But I also focused on the whole family.
I took shots of the parents snuggling with both their children, the older sibling giving the baby sweet kisses on the forehead, and the family sharing a moment of laughter together. The beauty of a lifestyle newborn session is in its authenticity. There’s no forced posing or very strict timelines. It’s all about capturing the essence of the family in their natural and safe environment. This approach allows everyone to relax and be themselves, which in turn, makes for the most genuine photos. The parents were so at ease, simply enjoying their time with their children, which made my job an absolute joy.
